Sunday Morning July 17

This sweet little attic spot has been my room for just past 5 weeks now.  It's looking a bit sad as I try to dismantle and pack up last night and this morning.  I'm feeling overwhelmed, honestly.  So excited to get home and yet hardly being able to stand the thought of leaving.  This is going to be a waterfall day for sure!

Five weeks ago on Friday evening Ruth and I arrived at Laura and Frederik's.
Tomorrow as we leave Amsterdam, it will be just six weeks since I left home to fly over here.  It feels like a really long time that I've been gone, and yet it also has gone so quickly.  Especially this last 2 weeks!

I don't have time to do a post about this last week yet so it's going to have to wait, but I'll just summarize a bit. Baby was a week old on Wednesday July 13, and Laura and I took her into the Dr's to have her tongue tie clipped to hopefully make it easier for nursing.  It's been a long week of working with her, but there's definite improvement, progress.  It does make it more difficult for me to think of leaving her tho!

Ruth arrived on Wednesday afternoon also.  On Friday afternoon we left Laura and baby at home and went to a different part of the province where some of Ruth's ancestors came from. It was fun to see another part of the country, and we did some sightseeing & exploring in a city while F. had some business there.  I'm excited to look (and post) at some of those pictures, it was a fun and interesting day!

Saturday Ruth and I did some shopping, cooking & baking for Laura, and just had a good relaxing day with her and baby while F. was away for the day.

Today (Sunday) we leave in the afternoon on the train for Amsterdam, and will (hopefully) fly out on Monday morning from there.  Depending on flight's & where we end up going for sure, I will be home either on Tuesday or Wednesday, so hopefully at least by the end of the week can finish up my travel posts!

I'll leave you for now with a picture of sweet Maylia hanging out with Grammie on Saturday eve.

Our Weekend--and Pictures!

she has a middle name and some "official" stats.

Maylia's middle name is Linn.  And the official size is 6.5 lbs and 19.7 inches long.

We had to do a bit of conversion from the metric.

Today we didn't do very much except sleep, work on the eating, sleep, take pictures, eat, sleep, take pictures...... Some of us did a little more, some of us less.

This morning she got to spend some time snuggling with me again.  She was awake for a little bit, but soon was off snoozing again.  She's doing really well at that!

 Working on the smile.....
 Sorry--once was enough!

Hanging out with Grammie again--you'd think all she does is sleep!  Well.... yes, almost! But it's ok, she's only 4 days old today!
This little outfit was first worn by Kaela and now by several of the grandbaby girls!

Here's Lyrah, Bethany & Karinn.  Later I'm going to try to find the photo I have of Kaela wearing it.  I think that Kyrie wore it too, but not sure if there's a picture.

Aren't baby feet adorable?

Sunday Morning, and Laura's feeling good enough to go out to Fellowship meeting.
We had fun getting baby dressed up.
Laura picked out this little outfit for her to wear today, the same one that Kaela wore to her first Sunday meeting almost exactly 15 years ago.  It's still just as sweet!

All dressed up for our first Sunday morning!

 See, she even smiles already!!

This family was with us for the Sunday evening Bible Study.  I had met the parents and son, and been with them several times, but this was the first time I'd met their daughter.
And then they wanted a photo of the 4 of us.

Laura and I did  our own little photo shoot of baby dressed one of the little vests that Laura wore when she was a new born.  It was hot here this afternoon!  It reminded me of when Laura wore this in June when she was a couple weeks out at our hot Western NE convention!
We also wanted to get a picture of baby with her darling quilt that her Auntie made her! It's so sweet, and you don't see things like this much here!

I really love the way she makes eye contact and watches us!

 Seriously Grammie--isn't that enough pictures?

Goodnight--Tomorrow's a new day & chance to take more pictures!  ;)

Friday

Just a few pictures  to share today-- Baby's spending lots of time skin to skin with Mama, and today seemed a good day for the Mama to stay resting in bed.

I went with F to get some groceries today, and was just a bit amused to spot these in the bin by the check out.  "A real American tradition".  Obviously in the states I wouldn't give this a 2nd glance probably, but here things like this amuse me easily  :)

I was also amused to see this--Obviouslly it's not only Americans who have problems parking correctly!  :D  And here they don't even have the excuse of oversized vehicles!

As much as alot of things are different, some are the same!
Had to take this when I spotted it along the street-- New Holland!
 And a Case

I've kind of taken over the kitchen, so it's been American food..... A few ingredients I miss, but mostly I can substitute, or do without.  Cheeseburger Vegetable soup for supper tonight!

And I managed to get in a few snuggles with Baby, I persuaded the Mama she could eat & enjoy the soup much better without holding baby too!

Now it's the weekend again, we'll see what that brings!  The rest of my time here is going to go super quick now!

Thanks for coming along!

Thursday, 7-7-16

Surely there can't be anything sweeter than cuddling with a newborn grandbaby.
I'm pretty sure I could write a whole book of "Love is" regarding my Littles!

Early morning snuggles with Grammie so Mama & Daddy could get some sleep.  It probably won't happen too often after this--they're rather possessive.... (hahaha!) but I'm doing everything I can to bond with her so She'll cry until they bring her to visit me..... haha!  smile!

That little mouth just gets me.  It's flashback to her Mama's all over again!

This afternoon I walked to the garden to check on things--pull a few weeds & came home with this!

(of course I had to snap some flower photos on my way thro.... Everytime I go, new flowers are blooming & things have changed!

These next 3 pictures are taken in Laura's front yard.

This evening F's brother & sister came over to spend a couple hours and meet their new Niece!
Look at this sweet Auntie picture!  I think she was pretty happy to have a niece!

And that's the close of baby's 2nd day!
Thanks for visiting us here--
Until next post!
